The Fancy Gap Country Store makes a claim to being the best BBQ on the Parkway, and based on the signs so far, I think they might be right.
The Food
The BBQ is smoked for hours in their bear-proof(?) smoker out front. The pulled pork sandwich was very good, as was the smoked and loaded hot dog. They also serve smoked chicken wings and have since added a “smoked and smashed tater”.
Gathering Place at Fancy Gap Country Store
The owners have put a lot of thought into making the Fancy Gap Country Store a community gathering place. Drop by for a bite to eat in the dining room. Meet friends for ice cream on the front porch. Or sit in on a weekly jam session hosted in their music room.
The owners plan to devote a section of the store to crafts and other items from local businesses.
