Along with Jolo Winery and Vineyards, Roaring River Vineyards has quickly become one of our favorite wineries within striking distance of Fancy Gap. Everything is top notch. The setting is unique and beautiful. The tasting room and restaurant are comfortable, warm and inviting. The wine and the food are delicious. The owners and staff are welcoming and friendly. Roaring River is less than 50 minutes from Fancy Gap.
Views Overlooking Roaring River
The Roaring River Vineyards tasting room and restaurant, Chez Josephine, both sit alongside the river. The covered patio invites a more up close view. The river is true to its name. The roaring of the rapids may be heard from much of the vineyard grounds.
Hike Around the Vineyard for More Views
There is a trail of sorts that will take you by a small pond and circles around the vineyard. This affords a different view of the vineyard grounds and the surrounding countryside.
The Tasting Room
Taste their delicious wines and beers in the tasting room. Enjoy lively discussion with the owners. You might even be able to get a personal tour of the vineyard grounds.

Recommendation
Paddle on over to Roaring River Vineyards and check it out. Hike beautiful and historic Stone Mountain and then head over to Roaring River for delicious food and wine for lunch or dinner. Be sure to call ahead with reservations. This makes a great day trip before heading back to Fancy Gap and Pilot’s Perch.
