The Depot at Cody Creek

The Depot at Cody Creek is our favorite fine dining restaurant within striking distance of Fancy Gap. If you’re looking for a special night out or a great place for an anniversary dinner, it’s hard to beat The Depot.

Rustic Architectural Beauty

You can tell The Depot has been a labor of love for the owner. Each building on the property has its own charm. Entering the property, you’ll pass through a covered bridge leading to the main part of the property. You’ll see one of Cody Creek’s beautiful wedding venues. The stained-glass adorned wedding chapel spans the creek running through the property. It is amazing to see.

The Restaurant

The restaurant itself is worth a trip to see the beautiful stone and wood work.

As you enter the restaurant, you’ll be greeted with the sound of gurgling water from the waterfall and water wheel in the entryway wildlife diorama.

You’ll be shown to a cozy dining area or a larger dining room for larger parties. Our favorite spot is a corner table in the jailhouse/barroom where you can hear the water trickle over the water wheel as you eat. The woodwork, metalwork and wagon wheel/antler chandeliers are all somewhat of a marvel. Be sure to check out the wagon wheel windows at the end of the large dining room.

The Food

We’ve had the ribeye, catfish, New Orleans pasta, and popcorn shrimp. The ribeye was one of best steaks we’ve had around Mt. Airy. I’ve heard the ribs are very good too.

Everything we’ve had there has been very tasty.

Weddings

Cody Creek also offers several wedding venues for those looking to tie the knot. In addition to the chapel, there is a banquet hall and two large gazebos for wedding parties up to 240 guests.
